Far as I'm concerned, that's grounds for murder.
Here, we've managed to convince people to own up when they fuck up. It's never too bad if people delete files, and let us know, as we have backups for 2 weeks at a time. It's only an issue if they hide it, and don't tell us.

One lad didn't tell us when he'd deleted a directory of old jobs, we found out 1 day before the backup was going to be overwritten. Had we not had that, he'd have been fucking murdered, let alone sacked. I was fucking furious when I found out.
