I just watched a bit of a video where they had taped a car to a post and were caning it to try and break the tape
didn't work

Yeah. Its tough stuff.
Maybe if you had some metal brackets fitted to the wall and wrapped duct tape round them and created some kind of net for the car? Would that be cheating though?

that would be the only way. you'd have to hang the car, rather than stick it to the wall.

Not enough torque, I'd imagine
the wheels lost traction well before the limit of the tensile strength of the tape was reached, I presume?

Cars actually suck at applying power in anything other than a pretty specific set of circumstances.

I am being particularly boring today.
Blame it on tiredness.

yeah, you are right.
I certainly think it would take more than 2 rolls to stick up a car because you'd have to wrap it right round the wall.

In fact the crucial bit would be getting it vertically supporting the main direction of load, and seeing as you can't wrap it under a wall then I doubt it'd work. The stuff may be strong, but it's not actually massively sticky.

I see what you mean
the load would be carried by the sticky gum rather than the actual tape. The gum's just strong enough to stick the tape to something, not bear load.

I reckon it would stay up
if you were wearing WATERPROOF TROUSERS.
