I had Chinese tonight, it always comes back to food dunnit.
Crispy shredded beef is win in any language. Boeuf déchiqueté croustillant. Knusperiges zerrissenes rindfleisch. Manzo tagliuzzato croccante. Carne de vaca destrozada curruscante.

This one's slightly different, but the one at Noodle Nation that Amberl introduced me to is like sex in the mouth, I could eat myself to death with it.

I find crispy shredded beef too sweet.
If it was spicy it would be lovely.

There's usually two versions a takeaway will do, a dry salted one and one in a sticky sweet sauce.
The dry one is fucking awesome and hot.

Does the dry one go under a different name as my local takeouts just have 'crispy shredded beef' listed

My Chinese lady once said "Dry or sticky?"
Ask for it dry and spicy, if they're any good they'll know.

theres a place here that does that crispy beef on their buffet
but it's usually left over from the day before
so it's less crispy delicious and more dry/rubbery

If I go to my local Chinese and ask them for something nice.
They'll always say, 'try this, it rubbery'

How are your little piggies getting on, are they happy with socks and straw?

(, Mon 25 Apr 2011, 20:59, Reply)
they're not too bad. Still nervous
I hovered up the straw on the floor. It scared them so they ran about scattering more on the floor.

They are called Captain Higgs and Bosun Boson, now

Are the names supposed to mean something to me?

(, Mon 25 Apr 2011, 21:01, Reply)
The Higgs-Boson
is the subatomic particle the LHC are trying to find/prove.

I like to think they live in their own LHC - Large Hamster Cage
