I have no idea. So I'm going to answer a different question instead.
Which bands inexplicably seem to be really liked by music industry gaylords, despite blatantly ripping their music off, almost bar for bar, from another musician?

Dandy Warhols and Lady fucking Gaga. The latter, incidentally, is also ripping off her own fucking music. Good skills there.

What did she do now?
I barely listen to any radio music or music news.

I've only recently started paying attention
but I have noticed that the Foo Fighters, despite a good first couple of albums, have been releasing the same album over and over again since then, and no one has noticed but instead have been heaping more and more praise on them.

I don't deny that they are a decent band
they just need some new material. or to stop.

They should cut down to releasing just 5 LPs a year.

I once heard one of the Foo Fighters,
one of the inconsequential ones that isn't Dave Grohl, call Keane "boring"; this is ironic because Keane, like them or not, have in fact changed their sound once or twice in their career.

*cough*Oasis*cough*
Regarding Vipros' point about the Foo Fighters, I would argue that In Your Honour was a bit different, albeit not quite as good as their previous albums.
