Has humanity really improved in the past 500 years?
Adolf Hitlers European tour 1939 - 1945, Soviet Russia, and Communist China, Pol Pots Cambodia, Afghanistan under the Taliban and any number of other examples suggests otherwise.

the wars before were a lot better than the recent wars, eh? And before people used to complain for their goverments to start a war nobody wanted too. Yeah, yeah. And rape between a married couple was always considered rape; child abuse was always punishable; equality standards have always been the same...

And glad you mention the Taliban and such, as they live as we used to live more than 500 years ago, and haven't evolved a bit.
