As for myself, I suffer from CPS (Chronic Pain Syndrome) due to an old injury and a slightly bodged operation or two. CPS is what the specialists call it when they don't have a fucking clue why you are experiencing pain. I'm currently wincing my way through a 3-month no meds (other than caffeine and alcohol) period because I don't want to completely fuck my liver and kidneys with NSAIDs before my kids are old enough to become organ donors. When I'm on meds, it's a rotation of ibuprofen+codeine and paracetamol+codeine or tramadol if I can get it or diclofenac if I'm desperate because I've had some strange experiences with that.
