I have taken mine out for 3-4 hours for interviews etcand it has been uncomfortable to put back in. They heal up quick.

I can leave my labret out for days at a time without it closingBut then I just left it in for my last interview, and every court appearance. I swap the septum horseshoe for a retainer though.
