Poor? In the most cash-rich and food-rich country on earth? With endemic obesity?
Ignorance I can accept - you don't value comprehensive education - but you can't blame poverty.

It's a cultural thing. The bulk of the country inherited its "cuisine" from German protestant peasants. Blandness is a virtue and grease is your friend.

I don't claim to know anything about the entire country. I've barely been out of my own state.
But here, where I live, people are poor.
And yes, they're ignorant when it comes to proper nutrition and don't understand how they could possibly feed a family without including kraft mac and cheese.
Which is why we are all fat.

Grease is disgusting, I have food with flavor, I love garlic, my roommate loves ketchup. It's all about how you were raised and whether you're tolerant.
