Partly it's living independently
but I've been doing that for years. It's also partly having my own income and managing it (albeit badly). I think I'll only feel like a proper grown up when I get to the end of every month and have substantially more than £3 left in my account...

Well, that's to my overdraft limit
And I think that scraping the very bottom of your bank balance every single month without failing is suggestive of poor financial management. And of not being paid enough, in my case...but I really ought to try harder to live within my means. When I manage that, I'll be a real grown up.
