When are you off to Edinburgh?
I might have to go there on Wednesday, but I'm trying to get out of it.

a week wednesday - otherwise I'd come and say hello
my friend is working thursday and friday so I'm going to be roaming the festival both days
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 21:44, Reply)
I'd forgotten the festival is on soon.
All the more reason to avoid travelling!

what!
But there'll be music and theatre and comedy and street performers! I love that shit
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 21:46, Reply)
Me too.
But if I'm there, I'll be working and there won't be time for any of the fun things.

booo
won't they even let you stay for the evening?
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 21:51, Reply)
Yeah, I can stay, but it won't really give me any 'fun time'
I'll try and avoid travelling.

I've never had to go far for work
furthest is probably playground patrol, and that's only about 50 miles
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 22:18, Reply)
How big is your playground!
I don't travel much for work these days, but overseas travel has been a regular part of other jobs I've done. Sadly, it is nowhere near as much fun as it sounds.
(, Sun 31 Jul 2011, 22:20, Reply)
I've done it little enough
that just being in a hotel would be exciting. For a while at least.

Depends on the company you work for.
I was most annoyed when one company I worked for decided that Dublin should be a day-trip and not an overnight stop, as there was good boozin' to be done, especially if you stayed Thursday night and working on the Friday, as - at your own expense - you could have a weekend on the sauce in Ireland.
