I accept that South London, Birmingham, Leeds etc. have nothing to do
With an internecine drugs squabble in Tottenham.

I just don't understand how things have spread so quickly.

And why. There are areas of any city that you don't go near. These aren't disenfranchised voters (a BIG difference from '81, when the riots were politicized). How - and why - is this happening?

I don't think you can rationalise this.
Some people decided a peaceful protest wasn't good enough so they got violent and then thugs all over London figured they'd have a bit of the action.

It's desctruction for the sake of it.

As above - Chapeltown, Leeds is an area I know. It's burning tonight without any sort of rationale.

I think I'll just go and shit in my own living room. That'll teach 'em, eh?
