you make it sound so 14th century. I feel for you though - I've had chickenpox as an adult and it was worse than when I had it as a kid - even though you're not meant to be able to get it more than once.

Got to find amusement in it somewhere
My bro facebooked me from Italy saying "Only just checked facebook, didn't realise there was a pox on you.." Made me laugh.

Also told a friend I had a fever, to which he promptly responded I needed more cowbell.

It does suck as an adult. Strangely it's not been that itchy, but it's pretty debilitating, with the fever, lack of sleep, headache, bit of nausea....

Lots of sources say that you can get it more than once. I think it's mainly if you don't get it badly enough to build up immunity or something. Friend of mine has had it three times.
