He just turned up
having cooked dinner (very late) with a plate of chips and nonya curry. Had a few chips and some of the chicken don't think it destroyed my diet too much.

'the pox'
you make it sound so 14th century. I feel for you though - I've had chickenpox as an adult and it was worse than when I had it as a kid - even though you're not meant to be able to get it more than once.

Got to find amusement in it somewhere
My bro facebooked me from Italy saying "Only just checked facebook, didn't realise there was a pox on you.." Made me laugh.
Also told a friend I had a fever, to which he promptly responded I needed more cowbell.
It does suck as an adult. Strangely it's not been that itchy, but it's pretty debilitating, with the fever, lack of sleep, headache, bit of nausea....
Lots of sources say that you can get it more than once. I think it's mainly if you don't get it badly enough to build up immunity or something. Friend of mine has had it three times.

'morning all.
I have:
- a sore throat, woolly mouth and slightly thick head after a lamb phaal and a lot of Cognac decided that 5.30 this morning was a good time to have a major row in my stomach.
- a metric fuckton of work to do
- the office to myself

'ning
didn't get much sleep as I was up till 2 reading - so 90's! But it was an eBook on my smartphone so I'm back in the future again.
today I must do some more clearance work on my old place but then be back at the flat by 2pm to get to the football by 3, then back to the flat to pick up meat, bread and jalapeno-based sauces for a barbecue.
QUESTION: When a friend has a barbecue:
1. do they provide all the meat and sides and bread;
2. does everyone bring some meat and sides and bread and mix and match;
3. everyone brings their own meat and sides and bread and there is UN class negotiating to occasionally swap a speciality sausage for a homemade burger.
I suspect that as people age they progress from 3 to 1 via 2. My mates are still on 3 but loosening up a little, I suspect if your group includes a weapons-grade moocher it might stick at 3 for a long time.
