We built a bar in my PhD houseadmittedly that was because two of us were running a bar on the side which gave us access to everything we needed, but still - the defining piece of genius was one of those twin-paddle cooling machines for fresh orange juice that meant you could make cocktails in serious bulk. Like, 8 litres.
