I've had 43 years on this world and only have two definates so far.

1 - The Smiths - "What difference does it make?" - Johnny Marr's opening 8 bars woke me from a dull life of New Romanticism and made me appreciate music created from love rather than money.

2 - Long Ryders - "Looking for Lewis and Clark" - for doing something very different at a mundane time and waking me up again.

ok, in order,
BGF is fucking enormous. I loved that whole breaks thing at the time.
NIN were my favourite band as a nipper, and that song is just cool.
Sums up depression perfectly, and I love the album is from.
For the lyrics.
Seminal abstract hip hop science. Showed how sampling and digging is an artform of its own.
Made me realise it was ok to like house as well as DnB, hip hop and electronica.
Lastly, it was stuck in my head for ten years.
