Trying to:
Ignore my annoying mother-in-law.
Calm down after aforesaid annoying mother-in-law has rearranged the kitchen so we can't find anything.
Prepare for a board meeting which will decide if I am going to become MD of the whole group.
Have a can of beer (am off cider at the moment)
Get supper ready.
Stave off the craving for a crafty wank.

Do you want the MD role, or will it be a case of spending too much time on financials/strategy and less time doing what drew you to the industry in the first place.

It's a bit complicated...
I sold my business and became joint MD of the group I sold it to. Benefits have been less stress (worrying about meeting payroll each month, sales etc.) Have enjoyed it.
Not adverse to being sole MD - have had jobs before with more responsibility and I am in some ways more suited to the strategic side.
Downside is less time to be with my family. I am very lucky though that Mrs Battered is very supportive of me no matter what decision I make.
I think I will do the job at least for the next year and then see about the longer term.
How come you're off the cider?

Granted, I'll have some cloudy tomorrow, but that is the exception rather than the rule.
Glad 'Er Indoors is being supportive, of course, maybe she wants you to work longer hours so she can 'justify' being a stay-at-home mum.

I found cider was giving me a really bad acid stomach. Haven't had any since we had some delicious Breton cider at the wedding.

Not only that, she will have a cast iron chastity belt, not be allowed out unaccompanied until she is 30 and even then she will have to be home by 8pm.

Mine started school a fortnight ago...where did the last (nearly) 5 years go?
Once it's gone you can never get it back.
