I'm not really willing to go off of what Battered has said, he's somewhat subjective here.If the Consultant felt it such an important matter he wouldn't have allowed such a situation to exist for 9 hours. I'm pretty sure the Hospital would happily distance itself from his advise and refer the intrepid Battered to the handy link above.
