I can as long as it's only 1 or 2 glasses of wine with or after food. Otherwise I am ruined for two days.
But then, I am 38.

Maybe the food element was something I missed
I'm 43 and should know better.

Have also learned it has to be a "proper" meal - not just the stilton & water biscuits I really want.

Yeah - I don't suppose dry roasted peanuts are "a meal" really.

Add some pork scratchings and you've had two courses.

No matter how pissed I've ever been
And I've been exceptionally pissed many times - I can't bring myself to eat Pork Scratchings.

Pickled Eggs - no problem. Crisps in a mucky bowl on the bar - fine. Scampi-flavoured snacks I've done.

But not - not NEVER - Pork Scratchings.

There's no logic to this because I'll gleefully scoff back pudding and sausage which is also reconstituted offal, but I can't do pork scratchings.

Oh mate, I was vegetarian for 28 years and pork scratchings are one of the most wonderful things on this planet.

Not even for an old soak like me :(
Ham and cheese pastry puff for supper tonight.
Just about finished second glass, only one left.
Then there's a bottle of Duvel...
