Good stuff.
Is mother doing equally as well?
(, Mon 24 Oct 2011, 20:54, Reply)
She is getting better thanks.
V long traumatic labour, collapsed a couple of times since, blood transfusions etc. So a difficult recovery. So much so I haven't even pestered her for sex.

The last week or so has been better - going to the channel islands for the weekend before last helped a lot I think.

Hopefully I will get a shag before Christmas.

Have to be careful though. Apparently women are at their most fertile in the 9 months or so after the baby is born
Don't want a second one that quickly...

You'll have to think about getting a job if that happens!
Imagine being stuck in the house with two small people.

I am not sure this is true
especially as breastfeeding prevents further menstruation and is in fact used as a fairly reliable method of contraception in developing countries.

The midwife told us the breastfeeding thing is a myth.
We have friends who had two within just a year of each other.

It's known as an "Irish pregnancy" apparently.

Does it really?
It makes sense, reduces competition for nutrients between siblings.
