No one Advises 2 lts per day, it was a marketing gimmick by evian... I believe (and one of the science folks may be able to confirm) the 2ltr thing came from a US forces study in the 50's that said humans need 2ltrs of fluid per day, that can be from a potato or tea etc it doesnt need to be water,
