My brother is a painter & decorator
so everything I need doing gets done by him in exchange for food, beer and a the odd bit of babysitting.

Alt: Wondering if I can sneak off to the bathroom and finish reading Mark Kermode's 'The Good, The Bad & The Multiplex' without anyone noticing, as I only have about 50 pages to go.

I'm not sure how you read Mark Kermode, but he doesn't do *that* for me...
...although there is his passionate defence of 'Breathless' and that hair, oh my, that hair

...nnnngh...

I got that for Christmas
Got about halfway through and was thoroughly enjoying it before I got distracted by comics and the final Hunger Games book. Don't tell me how it ends! Some cunt ruined Titanic for me like that.

Oddly, I only got round to starting it because
I have finally caught up on my comics. The 'New 52' is killing me in terms of finding time to read much else.

'Tis very good.

I love the way Kermode goes off-topic on a mega-rant frequently
It's how I imagine I would write a book, were such things not beyond me

It is a very decent collection of rants.
He destroys Sex & The City 2. I imagine deservedly, but as I never intend to see it, it's possible he's wrong I suppose.

I really, really doubt that
I enjoyed his point about the potential creative freedom of blockbusters
