Another bit of trivia
Jimmy Page was a fan - apparently early Zeppelin gigs used to include a cover of, or snippets of, Fresh Garbage, off the aforementioned debut album.

(In't Wikipedia great, eh? Facts? You remember them? Remember we used to 'ave to look 'em oop in books? Books? 'member them?)

Loads of people rate them.
EDIT but then loads of people regard Robin Trower's 'Bridge of Sighs' as a Hendrix-influenced masterpiece and I think it's extremely mediocre, if not 'fucking shit'.

A Small Faces reference?
Yeah, just had to look that one up. Someone needs to point out to certain music critics that stealing a few licks from Voodoo Chile does not make a song a Hendrix-influenced masterpiece, it makes it a song with ideas stolen from Hendrix. A fairly uninspiring song at that.

He was in Procul Harum wasn't he?
Procul 'really fucking shit' Harum, as they're known in Chateau Boyce. 'A Salty Dog' is almost passable as an LP but really, PH were toss.

That's probably where I recognise the name from
Ties in with the point below about what you appreciate when you're younger - I can remember loving 'White Shade of Pale' when I was about 14 and found it among my mother's old 45s. Don't think I'd waste another three minutes of my life on it these days...

That is an an especially bent tune.

I just can't remember what I used to see in it.
(To redeem my mother's cool points, her collection also included plenty of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac and an original 45 of My Generation)

Also sampled on a Pink track

Lose 20 cool points.

You are now on -20 cool points. Sorry to be etc.

*hangs head in shame*
It is the only Spirit track I know (not for that reason). It always used to confuse me when the Pink song came on the radio.

Hey! Hang on....
I could easily afford to lose 20 cool points.
I'm surely still in positive figures?

You and Crow here have the highest music cool point scores on here (bar me, obv).
