I didn't really 'get' Tommy when I first heard it. 12, 13 years on it's probably one of my favourite albums*.

*This in no way guarantees that persistently listening to Sardonicus will make it your new favourite LP...

To this day I'm not a massive fan of Tommy.
That said, I've always considered the medley on the Woodstock LP to be fucking superb.

I like their early singles best.

I seem to remember, about 10 years ago, a bunch of bands knocked out a Who tribute album
I nearly bought it. Then I realised it featured David "ooh-look-I've-changed-my-gay-costume-again" Bowie covering Pictures of Lily and promptly put the CD back on the shelf with what I hope was a suitable amount of British disdain.

One of my favourite singles, as well. As if the wonky-eyed cunt hadn't shat over British pop music quite enough already.
