My father was one briefly, until his eyesight deteriorated.
He was utterly gutted, as he really loved flying his Sabre.

I was in the Air Cadets until I started suffering from epileptic seizures.
These days the physical training to get into the RAF would kill me. They nearly did then.

It's relatively common in teenagers to have a couple of fits.
Usually medication sorts it out, as it did with me. Unfortunately a history of seizures and millions of pounds worth of high tech explosives and jet fuel don't mix.
