Because most people are posting from work, daytime threads rely on there being a lot of people on to keep things moving.
Also, there are a few too many personality clashes or lurkers waiting for someone they like to turn up before they get involved.

It is possible to drink with some decorum (in this part of the UK, at least, can't speak for your brothers)

I was referring specifically to people that get aggressive and loud when pissed.
Nobody gets in fights or causes disorder when on pills.
