I've mostly been very lucky with my bossesand have got on well with many of them personally. The worst kind of boss, in my experience, is one who tries to be pally and then turns out to be a cunt

Sounds like my MDMy immediate boss is an excellent guy to work for, friendly, funny, and has no issue in telling me to buckle down and shut the fuck up, usually when I've just proven him wrong on something, haha.
