I don't think maintenance payments are taken into account regarding benefits.

I had a quick look as well
it said it doesn't affect income-based benefits; I'm not sure if that encompasses all benefits ie, disability allowance, council tax benefit etc which I would assume she is on?

It would affect council tax benefit and housing benefit and the like.

That’s only been the case for the past couple of years: the first two years of my kid’s life they should’ve been declared.
