My parents couldn't afford lessons, let alone anything for me to practise onI taught myself at school out of sheer bloody-mindedness, because I was sick of one so-called 'mate' lording it over me because her parents could afford it and mine couldn't. I got some inheritance money when I turned 21 and bought a nice little Clavinova.
