He just sounds so bloody cool when he says it.I find myself replying "Yo, what is up my dog?" or something and it hurts me how much I sound like my Dad trying to be cool.

English people have two options in that respect, it's either sounding like Prince WIlliam on a royal visit to an underlpriveledged kids housing project or sounding like one of those cunts like Professor Green or Mike Skinner.
Your best bet is to simply go the other way and enquire as to whether he would like some tea or some Grey Poupon
