Was reading some book written in 1906which featured two maiden aunts popping down to town for their thursday treat- a curry at the Indian restaurant.

As I understand itearly anglo-indian food veered towards Indian-ified British dishes as opposed to 'authentic' stuff. Things like Coronation Chicken and Mulligatawny soup.

Yes, but I'm led to believe that even now the stuff we consider to be authentically 'Indian'isn't what they eat in India, so... Mind you, we're probably a sight closer now than with Coronation chicken.
