Tbh, they weren't as bad as you'd expect. The key difference between the books and the films is that in the books Edward is an irreverent fucker with a cheeky sense of humour, rather than a whiney little twat.

Fortunately I didn't pay to see it
The last film I was made to go and see was Pirates of The Caribbean 3, that with a hideous hangover was torture.
