why is it bullshit?lets say you have a life where you live somewhere fucking cool, and you have a lovely missus you wanna spend time with.
now lets say your options are: live comfortably within your means and have a little spending room extra for luxuries. leave the house at quarter to nine and be home by quarter past six. OR earn a fair amount more, lose most of it to travel costs, and taxes, and spend four fucking hours a day sitting on a sweltering/freezing train, l;eave the house at 7:30, get back at 7:30 PROVIDED there' no transport fuckups, eat, make lunch, do the dishes, MAYBE get an hour to sit down and chill, then go to bed.. what's the merit of choosing the latter option?

when i say MOST OF ITafter workling it out, i'll be better of by about £100 a month in terms of what's in my account. on a lower wage.
