I haven't read the whole thread so someone may have already suggested this, but coke bottles are fairly small, and the way they're shaped and curved would probably not be conducive to producing a functioning decorative lamp lit from below. So, scrap the water, dye the inside of the bottle with glass stain, then drop a fluorescent tube in to the top, or through a hole in the bottom if you have a glass cutter, and you'll probably have a more effective lamp. Or just fuck off to eBay with the rest of the weirdos who cover their house in game memorabilia like some sort of paedophile cave
