13 years, 362 days in insurance, 18 months senior management in chemical industry, 5 years 9 months senior management in fashion/catalogue logistics, 9 months bus driver, 6 months bus company manager, now self employed property consultant.

I accept that the employment market is tighter now than when I was bouncing about, but the essence is transferable skills and you might not know that you actually have them.
