Yeah, it won't be anywhere near as sensitive.It won't be relying on a bunch of sensors taking readings within certain parameters in order to balance the fuel/air mix.
Which is why mine and badger's cars are such screaming nancies about their fuel. Supermarket fuel is lower quality so it doesn't give out the right readings. The sensors report faults and the ECU goes into safe mode because it thinks the engine is about to explode.
