David Walliiams' kids books are popular at the moMine loved "Gangster Granny " and is getting the new one for Xmas.
Flynn and the Pirate Dinosaur ones are good for younger ones, also Giraffes Can't Dance (and others in the series)
I had all the Biggles books as a kid (via my dad), probably accounts for my war history fascination.
