brandy is just distilled wine.there are shit loads of types, all very different. You might as well ask me to recommend a beer without staying whether you like lager, ale, etc.
See below, try an Armagnac. Nicer and better value that cognac as it doesn't have the rapper/Monty Boyce market driving the prices up.
