I've got a friend that is a very strict Vegan. We have only once discussed the issue and almost came to blows, so we never talk about it anymore, because i like him really.
But he once was heard saying that "it is very arrogant to kill an animal for the sake of a taste or texture on the tongue for a fleeting moment"
Although, he is a good vegetarian in that he doesn't pretend that he doesn't need some of the things meat provides the body, and takes supplements to make sure he is healthy.
