we issued a statement saying they couldn't have him.

It'll be brinkmanship as the window closes, I reckon, them thinking we'll have to let him go and us forcing them to up their offer as we don't have to sell (and his contract runs till 2014 I think, so he's fucked if he properly pisses us off).

Either we'll get Hoillett as part of the deal so won't miss him, or he'll have to put in a shift for the remainder of the season to clean up his reputation. Win win.
