Seeing as how the truth is considered bad form, as is the response "oh fuck off you awful cunt", you're compelled to reply "fine - and yours?", thereby lying and asking a question you don't give a shit about the answer to, even though you know it'll be "fine".

When people ask me how I am, I always reply 'Fine'
even though the genuine answer is often very far from 'fine'. It's one of those stupid British things, like we apologise for our foot being stood on, or our kidneys being elbowed.

In other news, Tesco mobile broke my spare phone, so they're going to send me a new one.
Which is rather nice of them.
