The bricks came from a wall that collapsed when the mounted police charged at a crowd largely consisting of families.There is no footage in that clip of anyone throwing a brick.
In fact the only person holding a brick in that clip is a police officer.

you can see them throwing stuff that isn't sticks. You can clearly see protectors punching kicking and attacking police, regardless of how it started, attacking police officers is a dick move.
