More like a hot hatch. They're sort of similar to modern BMW 3 series and most of those won't do that sprint time.

8.5 to 60 is on the quicker side of things for a car.
Dolomite Sprint wasn't a sports car. It was a 4 door saloon. So the resonable comparison is to a warm hatch of today. And that's where it is.
