I don't always have a huge amount of time, it's nice and concise. I've got a certain respect for the Independent, so I'm confident it's fairly well researched stuff. The editors seem to have enough of a sense of humour to print some of the sillier stuff, and generally, the big stories in the middle of the paper tend to be of interest to me.
Oh, and the crossword is alright.
