I wouldn't worry too much about the mystery interviewers. You have to remember that the people who are looking are at least as keen as you are to find an appropriate person. They're not going to be a dick and turn the interview into a power game. And if they do then you'd be as well to tell them to fuck off straight away. The far more likely scenario is that they'll be charming and welcoming (give or take their natural academic autism) and give you a chance to show them what you're made of.

Also, the most likely reason they aren't namedis not that they are being mysterious but more that they've no idea who will be around on the day. what with them being academics.
