this particular programme I'm working on is a nightmare of red tape and legislation. For example, it runs until 2013, with a stop date of 31/12/15 to allow for project spends to be completed. Paperwork on all projects funded must be kept for 10 years from the stop date - so any project funded now needs to keep all documentation, receipts, invoices until 31/12/25...

And if anyone thinks 'sod that' they would do well to remember that the EU can, and will, claw back funds on the slightest discrepancy. One project (not one of ours) funded a few years ago had £12,000 recovered because of a missing receipt for 40p... I kid you not.
