We were in Epping Forest on the weekendand it seems you can camp there, so doable without a car, on the overground from by my house in half an hour. Zone 5. You can hire firepits so bonfire, barbecue etc. She really want to go - she told Lusty she has her own camping kit. Apparently this consists of 'camouflage, for your face'.
