But the thing is that you are usual a fairly quiet poster (yes, I can see the irony)
and when you suddenly act out of character - like today - then people will take what little they know about you and (perhaps unjustly) leap to the conclusion that you're having a funny turn.

Yes, it's a point.
I forget that some people are relative newbies. I used to talk a lot more but most of the people I liked talking to left. these days I only tend to come here when I'm bored, which probably adds to that impression.

ETA: I think I did always rant though. it's just that now most of the pleasant conversations that used to happen in between don't happen as I'm either not here or not talking.
