I saw John Renbourn live a couple of years agoHe was using what I can only describe as a fat guy guitar stand - a little stand to support his guitar on his lap, so that he could hold it in such a position that his rather large belly didn't inhibit his playing.

I've seen those!They were supposed to hold the guitar at the correct angle - bet they were actually designed for the more portly gentleman though!
