Had one today. Wanted a replacement laptop for one that she'd broken. We don't have anybecause we're in a leasing arrangment with IBM and they require we send back the full set of end of lease machines before they send out new ones. She gave it the whole "Are you telling me that in this day and age a company the size of ours can't get one laptop?"
Stonewalling them often pisses them right off, so this is exactly what I do.
