How's the Golf getting on?

I'll have you know that I'm a paragon of abstinence.
Golf's cost me a grand to get it roadworthy, which means I've spent 2.5 on getting a really nice, solid 16v. Not quite so much of a bargain as I'd thought, but I've still come in below the 3.5k average. Pretty happy.

EDIT: this would have been much better if I done did a strike through on clutch to crutch

It needed both front shocks replacing, new discs and pads all round,
a new clutch, a new thermostat and housing, a new brake caliper and a new wheel bearing.

I just don't have the gear to do in the air wheels off work, otherwise I could have saved a packet on labour costs. Oh well.
